SfL Applauds Biden Decision to Rejoin Paris Climate Accord

January 20, 2021

Solutions from the Land President Ernie Shea issued the following statement responding to President Biden’s executive order signed today restoring U.S. participation in the Paris Climate Agreement.

“Solutions from the Land (SfL) applauds President Biden’s decision to reenter the Paris Climate Accord and supports the Executive Order he issued today to accomplish the same. SfL’s leaders and collaborating partners at the global, national, state and local level know that climate change is occurring today and is likely to have more pronounced impacts on the agriculture and forestry sectors in the coming years and decades. This unprecedented global challenge provides a unique opportunity for agriculture to step up and provide leadership in global efforts to sustainably intensify production, improve resilience and deliver high-value and near-term climate mitigation solutions from well managed farms, ranches and forests. As active participants in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change(UNFCCC), Solutions from the Land looks forward to working with the Biden Administration in delivering agriculture solutions to climate and other global sustainable development goals.”
