Biographical Info

Tom Price is a hog, cattle and compost farmer who has actively worked with agricultural related organizations and agencies to help livestock and poultry producers be good neighbors and environmental stewards, exemplified in the Price Farm mission: “We recycle food and fiber from the surrounding community of neighbors and businesses.” Price’s enterprise – Price Farms Organics, Ltd. allows his farm operations to flourish in a rapidly urbanizing area while at the same time meeting the yard trimming disposal needs of Delaware County. A native of Delaware County, Price is a 1960 graduate of Scioto Valley High School and holds a B.S. in agriculture from The Ohio State University. Price successfully blends farming, community and business, having served on the Delaware Area Chamber of Commerce and the Delaware Soil and Water Conservation District. He has served on the Ohio Pork Industry Strategic Planning Committee, the Ohio Beef Council, OSU Extension Advisory Committee and the Delaware Farmland Preservation Task Force. Currently he serves on the Ohio Soil and Water Conservation Commission and the Ohio Exposition Commission. These industries have honored him with the Ohio Conservation Farm Family Award, Ohio Cattlemen’s Environmental Stewardship Award, Ohio Pork Producers Service Award among many others. Price and his wife Judy farm in Delaware County.
