Patty Mann
Biographical Info
Patty lives with her husband, Dave, just outside Jackson Center in Shelby County. They were both born and raised on dairy farms. After their marriage, they continued dairying until 2008 when they dispersed the herd to devote their efforts exclusively to corn and soybean production. They have been farming at their Jackson Center location since 1987, expanding their operation into 8 counties. Patty shares in all farm decision making, while being involved in both labor and management. She is the office manager and also handles the grain marketing for Mann Farms. In addition to Patty and Dave, they also have 4 additional full time employees. Patty and Dave have 2 children. Shelby, will graduate in May from the University of Illinois, with a Master’s degree in Plant Science. Their son, Chris, is currently a student at the University of Northwestern Ohio. Patty serves as treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Ohio Corn and Wheat Growers and also is currently chairing the Consumer Engagement Action Team of the National Corn Growers. She has also recently served on NCGA’s Corn Vision 20/20 ethanol committee and chaired a Customer & Consumer Acceptance work group to update NCGA’s strategic plan. She has served on the Shelby County FSA County Committee and is involved with the Jackson Center FFA, currently sitting on the Advisory Board and also assisting the Jackson Center FFA Boosters. The family is active members of Grace Lutheran Church in Jackson Center. Patty serves as Grace’s financial coordinator to oversee support for the orphanage of their sister church in Bariadi, Tanzania. In her spare time, Patty enjoys landscaping and gardening.
