Biographical Info

Jason Russell is a sixth generation Linn county, IA livestock and grain farmer. He graduated from Kirkwood Community College in 1999. Jason, his wife Sarah and 3 children custom feed hogs, raise direct to market beef and lamb, Grow corn, soybeans, hay and now chickpeas. Jason’s efforts in conservation and cover crop outreach have resulted in accolades in environmental stewardship from IA pork producers, national pork board, IDALS and American Soybean Assoc. Jason is active with several commodity groups to help influence ag policy.

Jason currently serves on the energy policy committee’s for IFBF and AFBF as well as participating in several on farm trials with NRCS and ISA. Jason also continues to learn and share his experiences with regenerative ag by speaking and hosting visitors to his farm.
