SfL at Home

In the United States and elsewhere in North American agriculture, SfL’s unique work relies on facilitating “uncommon collaborations” of farmers and ranchers recognized for innovation and leadership in their communities and stakeholders drawn from the groups they trust.
Through grassroots leadership from trusted local growers and farm groups, combined with a movement of farmers providing feedback, recommendations crafted on climate smart agriculture and other enabling policies, programs and investments can be designed to truly provide solutions from the land.
STATE-BASED Climate Smart Agriculture
Solutions from the Land’s state-based Climate Smart Agriculture initiatives include:
- The Iowa Smart Agriculture Work Group (IASA)
- The Florida Climate Smart Agriculture Work Group (FLCSA)
- The Missouri Smart Agriculture Work Group (MOSA)
- The North Carolina Agriculture and Forestry Work Group (NC-ADAPT)
These initiatives provide platforms for engagement, dialogue, knowledge sharing and application of climate science to the agriculture and forestry sectors.
Integrated Regional Landscapes
Regional landscape initiatives include:
- The Delmarva Land & Litter Challenge (DLLC)
- Ohio Smart Agriculture: Solutions from the Land (OSA)
- The North America Climate Smart Agriculture Alliance (NACSAA)
These initiatives engage with agriculture and forestry partners to develop land-based solutions to regional and landscape issues.
Clean Energy Platform
Starting in 2013, Solutions from the Land’s legacy Clean Energy Platform was led by the 25x’25 Alliance. 25x’25’s Vision: By 2025, America’s farms, forests and ranches will provide 25 percent of the total energy consumed in the United States, while continuing to produce safe, abundant, and affordable food, feed and fiber.
