The 25x’25 Alliance has
released the results of its Phase II study from the University
of Tennessee that assesses the impacts
of various energy-related legislative scenarios on the U.S.
agriculture and forestry sectors.  The study, titled Implications of
Energy and Carbon Policies for Agriculture and Forestry Sectors
, and
undertaken at the request of 25x'25 by the University of Tennessee's Bio-based
Energy Analysis Group, projects how proposed energy and carbon payment policy
instruments might impact the U.S. agricultural and forestry sectors.  In addition to the national findings, we have
developed
narratives that highlight and explain the findings of the
report as it relates to electricity, economic and land use impacts at the state
level.

The 25x’25 is not endorsing a Renewable Electricity Standard
or any other policy toolWe are
releasing this report and narratives as background information and a resource
for those interested in these policy mechanisms.  Should you have any
questions regarding the report findings, contact information for the report
authors can be found on the state narrative document.  We hope that you
will find the data from the report useful in your advocacy and outreach
efforts.
